About Me

I have been a mother for 30 years and married for 33 years.  My adult son, who has lived with a lifelong chronic illness, is finishing his PhD, and my adventurous daughter loves traveling, going to concerts, and exploring the world.

Never feeling settled in one place and having the desire to have new experiences, my family and I have lived in Ohio, Kentucky, Florida, Colorado, and have most recently settled in Arizona. This has given me a broad perspective on life.

If you’re looking for a listening ear, a bit of motherly advice, or someone to talk to who won’t judge, I’m here for you. I understand how important it is to have support, especially when those around you might not quite get it. While I’m not a licensed therapist, I offer a caring, mom-like perspective and hope to provide a safe space for understanding and guidance.

I’m excited to connect and offer the support you need!

Monica

What kind of things do you talk about?

In our sessions, you can talk about whatever’s weighing on you—whether it’s personal challenges, career concerns, relationship issues, or just navigating life’s ups and downs. We can discuss your goals, how you’re feeling, and any areas where you might need clarity or guidance. If you’re dealing with stress, anxiety, or feeling overwhelmed, I’m here to help you talk through those emotions. If you need advice on self-care, personal growth, or even finding professional support like therapy or medical care, I can assist with that too. The key is creating a space where you feel heard and supported, no matter what you’re going through.

Are you a Therapist?

No, I am not a licensed therapist or counselor. However, I bring a lifetime of personal experience navigating life’s challenges. As a mother, I’ve faced a unique set of hurdles, including raising a child with a severe chronic illness and supporting him through multiple brain surgeries. These experiences often led to isolation from both my children’s peers and my own adult social circle. I’ve also had to adapt my career path to meet my family’s ever-changing needs.

Through it all, I’ve developed a deep, compassionate understanding of what it’s like to face difficult situations. I offer a mom-like perspective and pride myself on being one of the best listeners you’ll find. My goal is to provide support, share insights, and listen – even when things feel insurmountable.

The Supportive Mom is not a licensed therapist or counselor. While I’m here to offer practical advice, emotional support, and a listening ear, I recognize that sometimes professional help is needed. If you’re dealing with issues that require specialized care—whether it’s mental health, medical concerns, or other challenges—I can help connect you with qualified professionals. I can refer you to trusted doctors, therapists, treatment centers, or other resources, and assist in finding the right fit for your specific needs. Your well-being is important, and I’m here to support you in whatever way I can, whether that’s providing guidance or helping you find the expert help you deserve.
